Tigernut milk

Tigernut milk is also known as kunun Aya. It’s a nutritious drink from northern Nigeria. It’s something enjoyed by all

  1. Wash the dried tigernut and soak for at least a hour or more
  2. Break the coconut and remove the flesh then set aside
  3. Peel the ginger and set aside
  4. After a hour or more, put the coconut, tigernut, fresh ginger into the blender
  5. Add in some ice cubes and water and blend everything together
  6. After blending, sieve it and drain the milk
  7. Put the milk in an airtight container and store in the fridge
  8. The kunun Aya can last up to 3 days in the fridge
