Fried chicken

Note: For extra crispy fried chicken, you can double-dredge the chicken by dipping it in the buttermilk and flour mixture twice.

  1. in a shallow dish, mix together the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper
  2. in a separate bowl pour the butter milk
  3. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture, shaking off any excess flour
  4. Dip the chicken pieces into the butter milk, making sure they are fully coated
  5. Dredge the chicken pieces in the flour mixture again, making sure the are evenly coated
  6. Heat the vegetable oil in a nice skillet over medium-high heat
  7. Once the oil is hot carefully place the chicken pieces in the skillet making sure not to over crowed the pan
  8. Fry the chicken on each side for about 8-10 mins until the outside is golden brown and the inner temperature is 165•f (74•C)
  9. Remove the chicken from the skillet and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain the excess oil
  10. Serve the fried chicken hot with your favorite side dish
